Meet the Team

Barry Lloyd

Managing Director

Barry Lloyd is one of the co founders of Activ8Kids. He has vast experience working in Summer camp programmes, coaching children aged 4-16. Barry is a graduate of Hartpury sports college where he played rugby and progressed his coaching, refereeing and sports theory knowledge. Barry then went on to study at Aberystwyth University in the sport and exercise science department gaining a 2nd class BSc degree.

 

Barry has played county level rugby and football and has also represented mid and north Wales in both. He is now focusing his attention on growing the Activ8Kids programme by passing on his advanced sporting knowledge to the children he coaches and promoting healthy active lifestyles.

 

Barry also holds presentations for Dynamo on behalf of the Welsh Assembly on the ins and outs of starting up in business and hands on Sports Science Seminars. He has presented to thousands of students in Schools, Colleges and Universities throughout Wales.

Joe Murray

Managing Director

Joe Murray is the other co-founder of Activ8Kids. After taking a keen interest in anything sporty throughout his school life, Joe also went onto study sports and exercise science at Aberystwyth University. He graduated with an upper division second-class BSc degree.

 

Joe played many sports in his younger days before focusing on rugby, going onto captain his hometown team Newtown RFC for a couple of years.

 

Recently he has been concentrating on endurance events including marathons and cycling sportives. He ranks one of his major achievements as completing a charity cycle ride from John O’Groats to Lands End with a group of friends (including Barry), in which the group raised in excess of £10,000 for various charities.
