Activ8Kids is looking for a positive, reliable and enthusiastic Sports Coach to join our team in and around Newtown.

We have been delivering sport and physical activity for children since 2009, working with schools, families and local communities across Mid Wales and the Borders.

The role

You will deliver fun, safe and engaging sport and physical activity sessions for children, primarily within local primary schools.

The core role will involve regular work across 3 to 4 mornings and afternoons each week during school terms.

There is potential for more hours for the right person, including additional school delivery, after-school clubs, holiday MultiSports camps and community activity.

What we are looking for

We are looking for someone who:

• Enjoys working with children and can build a positive rapport with them.
• Is confident leading groups and keeping children engaged.
• Can deliver a range of sports, games and physical activities.
• Is reliable, organised and professional.
• Can adapt activities for different ages, abilities and needs.
• Communicates well with children, school staff, parents and colleagues.
• Can work independently while being part of the wider Activ8Kids team.
• Is based in Newtown or can reliably travel to Newtown and surrounding areas.

Previous experience in sports coaching, PE, schools or children’s activity is desirable.

Relevant coaching, sports, PE, safeguarding or first aid qualifications would be an advantage, but we are interested in finding the right person as well as the qualifications they hold.

• £12 to £15 per hour depending on experience.
